- Concept of business location
A business location is a place where a business conducts specific business activities. The business location code is a 5-digit code issued in order from 00001 to 99999. This code is not the tax code of the business location.
Enterprises that want to establish a business location must send a notice of establishment of a business location to the Business Registration Authority in accordance with the provisions of the Enterprise Law.
- Requirements for business location names
Pursuant to Article 40 of the Law on Enterprises 2020 and Article 16 of Decree No. 168/2015/ND-CP of the Government on business registration, the name of the business location must meet the following requirements:
– The name of the business location must be written in letters of the Vietnamese alphabet, the letters F, J, Z, W, numbers and symbols.
– The name of the business location must include the enterprise name followed by the phrase “Business location”.
– The name of the business location must be written or attached at the business location
– In addition to the Vietnamese name, the business location of the enterprise can register a name in a foreign language and an abbreviated name. The foreign language name is the name translated from the Vietnamese name into one of the foreign languages in the Latin alphabet system. The abbreviated name is an abbreviation of the Vietnamese name or the name in a foreign language.
– The proper name in the name of the business location of the enterprise must not use the phrase “company” or “enterprise”.
- Documents and procedures for notifying the establishment of a business location
An enterprise may establish a business location at an address other than the place where the enterprise has its head office or branch.
Within 10 days from the date of deciding to establish a business location, the enterprise shall submit a dossier notifying the establishment of a business location to the provincial-level business registration agency where the business location is located. The dossier notifying the establishment of a business location includes the Notice of establishment of a business location according to Form No. 17 issued with Circular No. 68/2025/TT-BTC of the Ministry of Finance on promulgating forms used in business registration and household business registration.
Within 03 working days from the date of receiving a valid dossier, the provincial-level business registration agency shall update information about the business location in the National Database on Business Registration. In case the enterprise has a need, the provincial business registration authority shall issue a business location registration certificate to the enterprise. In case the dossier is invalid, the provincial business registration authority shall notify the enterprise in writing of the content that needs to be revised or supplemented.
