What is a visiting visa?

In summary, according to the provisions of the Law on Entry, Exit and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam, a Vietnam family visit visa has a maximum validity of 12 months. However, the validity of a Vietnam family visit visa may be shorter than the validity of a passport or other international travel documents for at least 30 days.
Conditions for applying for a Vietnam family visit visa
1. Have documents proving family relationships
Some types of documents commonly used to prove relationships are:
– Birth certificate
– Family relationship certificate (Koreans often use this type)
– Family register
– Marriage registration certificate or Marriage registration extract.
In case the above documents are issued by foreign agencies, they must be consularized and notarized in Vietnamese.
2. Valid passport
Note that the visa validity is always at least 30 days less than the passport validity.
3. Not in the cases of prohibited entry and exit
Foreigners who are prohibited from entering and exiting Vietnam will not be able to apply for a family visit visa.

Procedures for applying for a Vietnam family visit visa

2. In case the visa applicant is in Vietnam
Step 1: Submit the TT visa application
Place to submit the application:
– Immigration Department of the provincial or municipal police where the sponsor is permanently/temporarily residing.
– Vietnam Immigration Department (Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City)
Processing time: 05 working days.
Step 2: Receive the results of the Vietnam family visit visa
